• Central Indiana, USA - I am net to the net and came across equinet by looking around. It's a fun place. You have to admire the love these young people all over the world has for their horses. I know how I felt when I was twelve. I know how much my horse meant to me. It doesn't change. The older you get the more you love them and appreciate them. There's no more rewarding sport or hobby in the world than having a horse. I wished everyone would realize this, because there are no many obused animals in the world. The horse USED to be an animal of burden. Now, they are an animal of beauty, no matter what the breed, they are wonderful. Take care of your horses, and don't forget your kitties and dogs too. • Central Indiana USA - I don't know how many horse people are aware of the terrible accident that occured in April of this year that trainer Steve Heckaman and his family were involved in, but let me tell you what happened. Steve and his family and employee was traveling with show horses and was involved in a terrible crash. Steve lost his lovely wife and his 18 month old son was injured and Steve almost lost his right arm. Steve has been a trainer of quarter horses, paint horse, and apps for almost 15 years. He's won many world championships and he is a very respected trainer. Steve has recovered most of his injuries and is expected to be showing at the 1997 Quarter Horse Congress this October. He doesn't have full use of his right leg and arm yet, but he is back in the saddle and improving every day. His son has also recovered from his injuries and is well again. My prayers are with this family. They have endured the worst. Steve lost his lovely wife Carol, but he has not lost his dream. I hope all of you horse people pray for this family and wish them nothing but the best. My prayers are with you Steve and Riley. May GOD be with you. bobcliff@webtv.net

My name is Diane and I only have the internet for a short time so I probably wont know if anyone replys to me unless they do it before the end of this month but I wanted to add my little bit to history. I am 28 years old and fell in love with horses when I was 18 months old. I have had 3 horses but am sad to say they have all been disasters. I am a new mum of a beautiful bouncy 4 1/2 month old boy called Joshua and although I would never in a million years part with him i desparately miss horses but my story is a sad one of absolutly no money, so much so that just to survive my husband my son and myself are about to move into his brothers garage to live. But enough of my sad tales....to all of you horses lovers out there happy riding you lucky people and please just remember that you are the lucky ones and that wonderful animal that you sometimes get frustrated with is worth all your love and care no matter what. Her DAM is "Scamp's Honey B Cash" AQHA sorrel, she was bought from a lady from Manvel, Tx. and sold to a man in Lufkin, Tx. and he sold him to his uncle that is now deceased and never transfered title to AQHA. I have tried to locate the previous owned of the DAM and she has moved, the man that I bought her from in Lufkin, Tx. has been no help! I gave alot of money for the Mare and traded him another Mare for her with the understanding that she was registered properly and the paper work would have to paid for by me! He said about $20.00 would be the fee. Guess what, about $150.00 is more like it, that is when the paper work is correct! I need to know, if you know of any other associations that she could be registered with? I would be willing to start from ground "0" with her and start my own bloodline. • Houston, TX - Sakr the "winningest horse of all time" was put down on Wednesday, May 28, 1997. This morning at 8:00 am (CST), Tom McNair had to put Sakr down due to colic. Late last night and early this morning, Tom sat with Sakr for the last time trying to do everything possible to save his famous Arabian stallion. The two friends said goodbye on a hill overlooking Thistlewood Farm in Kerrville, Texas, where Sakr has now been buried. The news about Sakr has brought tears to the eyes of horse lovers around the world. Keep Tom and Sakr in your thoughts today. Of all the horses that have crossed Tom's path --- this one mattered most. Go give your horse a big hug and thank God that you have him. I own an Arabian Welch I've ridden many different types of horses but this one has me stumpped.
